Terms of Use

1. The service

YouTranscripts provides tools that can retrieve, display, translate, export, and summarize content from supported YouTube videos. A video may be unavailable because of its privacy setting, caption availability, region, source provider, rate limits, or other technical conditions. We do not promise that every video or language will work.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to use the service in your location. Some features, including summary generation and saved history, require a free account. Keep your sign-in methods secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Current free summary offer

At the current launch stage, transcript access is intended to remain available without payment where the product supports it. Summary generation is account-gated and is offered at no charge while the current offer is active. No payment method or subscription is required for this offer.

An account created while the founding offer is displayed is an eligible founding account. Eligible founding accounts can keep generating summaries without payment for the lifetime of that account, while the service operates, provided the account remains in good standing and follows these Terms and the Fair Usage Policy. We may close the offer to new accounts at any time, but closing it will not by itself remove this founding-account treatment. Future paid products, if any, must have their own pricing and terms before a charge.

4. Fair usage and responsible use

“Unlimited” summary access means that we do not publish a monthly credit quota for ordinary personal use. It does not mean unlimited infrastructure, automation, bulk processing, scraping, resale, credential sharing, or bypassing safeguards. See the Fair Usage Policy.

• Use the service lawfully and respect the rights, privacy, and terms that apply to source content.
• Do not interfere with the service, overload infrastructure, probe other users’ accounts, or access data you do not own.
• Do not automate, scrape, resell, share credentials, or bypass reasonable controls without written permission.
• Do not impersonate others, submit malicious instructions to affect the service, or use output to cause harm.

5. Suspension and changes

We may pause, restrict, or close access when needed to protect users, investigate abuse or security issues, comply with law, respond to a provider outage, or operate safely. Where practical, we will provide a user-safe explanation and a support path. Features may change or be discontinued.

6. Source content and output

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use a source video, transcript, translation, or generated output. YouTranscripts does not transfer ownership of third-party source content. The website, software, branding, and original interface materials may not be copied or misused.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains account history, transcript and summary processing, analytics, provider use, support requests, retention review, and data rights.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Transcripts, metadata, translations, summaries, and exports may contain errors or omissions and should be checked against the source. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular response time, provider, or result. Any limitation of liability is subject to applicable law.

9. Contact and reporting

For support, privacy, or account requests, email contact@youtranscripts.com. Include the request ID when one is available. For suspected security issues, use the security page. Do not include passwords, tokens, or keys.

10. Updates and legal review

We may update these Terms by posting a new version and changing the date above. Governing-law, dispute, consumer-rights, and retention provisions require final legal review before production publication.
