The short version
Unlimited summaries for normal personal use
During the current free offer, signed-in users can generate Quick, Detailed, and Very Detailed summaries without a published monthly credit quota. You can use summaries as part of your normal workflow without watching a monthly counter.
“Unlimited” does not mean unlimited speed, availability, transcript size, provider capacity, or permission to automate and bulk-process requests. We may slow, queue, verify, or temporarily pause activity that threatens reliability or looks abusive.
No monthly counter
There is no published monthly summary-credit allowance for ordinary personal use during this offer.
Human-paced use
Reading, researching, learning, and working with your own content are the use cases this offer is designed for.
Safety still applies
Source availability, technical limits, reliability controls, and responsible-use rules still apply to every request.
What is included
What normal personal use looks like
Normal personal use means a person is making interactive requests for a real task. It can include using several summaries in a day, trying a different summary mode, or retrying a request when the product indicates that a retry is appropriate.
Learning and research
Understand lectures, interviews, tutorials, podcasts, and other supported videos without replaying every minute.
Accessibility and reading
Use summaries and transcripts in the format that helps you follow, search, revisit, or understand a source.
Your content workflow
Gather notes and starting points for your own videos, scripts, articles, study plans, or other personal projects.
Trying a request again
A failed or incomplete request can be retried when the product suggests it. Please wait for an earlier job instead of repeatedly starting identical jobs in parallel.
Why a request may slow down
Safeguards keep the free experience useful for everyone
We use reasonable, risk-based controls rather than publishing exact thresholds that could be used to bypass them. Depending on the situation, the service may:
Manage pace
Queue or slow a burst of simultaneous jobs so one person does not crowd out everyone else.
Avoid duplicate work
Suppress or combine identical requests that are already being processed.
Protect capacity
Temporarily limit unusually high-volume, expensive, or resource-heavy activity.
Check unusual activity
Ask for verification or pause activity that looks automated, abusive, compromised, or designed to evade controls.
Legitimate accessibility, research, or creator workflows can occasionally look unusual to an automated system. If that happens to you, please contact us so we can review it.
Please do not
Use the public free offer as a bot, scraper, or backend
The offer is for people using the product, not for turning YouTranscripts into an unapproved automated service. The following activity may be restricted or suspended:
Automation and bulk jobs
Scripts, bots, loops, headless tools, parallel tabs, or bulk generation that runs without a person driving each request.
Scraping and resale
Scraping results, building a competing dataset or service, reselling access, or using the site as an unapproved API.
Shared or evading accounts
Sharing credentials, letting many people use one account, or rotating accounts and identifiers to get around safeguards.
Harmful interference
Attacking, defrauding, probing, disrupting, compromising, or using the service unlawfully or to harm other people.
If you need team, API, research, or commercial access, contact us first. We can discuss an appropriate arrangement instead of asking you to work around the public offer.
If something goes wrong
If your access is limited
A limit may appear as a short delay, a queue, a verification request, or a temporary pause. It does not necessarily mean that your account is permanently blocked.
- 1
Read the message
If it gives a retry time or asks you to verify, follow that guidance and avoid repeatedly refreshing the request.
- 2
Keep the request ID
It helps us investigate the event without asking you to send sensitive account or service information.
- 3
Contact support if it looks wrong
Email contact@youtranscripts.com with the request ID, approximate time, selected summary mode, and a short description of what happened.
Please do not send passwords, one-time codes, session cookies, tokens, API keys, private keys, or unnecessary private transcript content. We will not publish exact internal thresholds because that would make the safeguards easier to bypass.
Common questions
The details people usually want to know
Does “unlimited” mean there are no limits at all?
No. It means there is no published monthly summary-credit quota for ordinary personal use during the current offer. Each request still depends on source availability, transcript size, provider capacity, service reliability, and responsible-use safeguards.
Can I use several summary modes or retry a failed request?
Yes, when you are using the product interactively. Trying Quick, Detailed, or Very Detailed summaries and retrying a failed request are normal. Please wait for a job already in progress instead of starting many identical requests at once.
Why might a legitimate request be slowed or checked?
Automated protections look at patterns such as bursts, concurrency, duplicate jobs, unusual volume, and security signals. A legitimate accessibility, research, or creator workflow can occasionally look unusual. Contact us with the request ID if normal use was affected.
Can I use this offer for a script, team, or business?
Not through the public free offer without permission. It is not an unapproved API or backend. Email us if you need team, API, research, or commercial access so we can discuss the right arrangement.
What if the video is private, very long, or has no usable transcript?
A fair-use policy cannot override source or technical limits. Private, unavailable, unsupported, or unusually large sources may not produce a summary. Follow the product message, try a supported source when appropriate, or contact support with the request ID.
Can the founding offer close or change?
The offer can close to new accounts at any time. Accounts created while it is displayed receive the founding treatment described in our Terms: in plain language, an eligible founding account can keep the free summary treatment for the life of that account while the service operates, provided it remains in good standing and follows the Terms and this policy. If we introduce a paid product later, we will show its pricing and terms before charging you.
Offer details
A generous offer with honest boundaries
We want the free summary experience to be useful, predictable, and sustainable. We may update this page when providers, law, security needs, or operating conditions change. We will keep safeguards focused on preventing abuse and protecting reliability—not on turning ordinary personal use into a surprise monthly quota.
